What are your thoughts on affiliate marketing?  Is the market over saturated for new comers or do you think there is still room for someone who wants to give it a shot?

mostly a load of effort for little reward.

If you want to pursue this, it works best, like so many other aspects of marketing, when you have an unpenetrated niche.

I think it would really depend on your target niche, some of my friends are now choosing a smaller niche because the market is really saturated. A saturated market doesn’t mean you can no longer earn anything from it; there are still ways to get a share of the market but it won’t be easy.

I think the affiliate marketing business is having tough time now. Since many people are flooding in to this business the competition for better marketing skills increases day by day. Further there also a lot of products which are competitive to each other there by toughening the fact that selling of the product is a headache.

They pay you in nuts. One must have the patience to reap the fruits. Because as rightly said, affiliate marketing is saturated for new comers. I was a great victim of this. So early bird catches more.

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts.  My impression based on the feedback is that unless I can find a niche, I'm wasting my time.  Well, just like everyone else, I want to make money online but not if I'm only going to get paid pennies for my efforts.

I always read about stories on how people make a ton of money with affiliate marketing. I have never met these people but do read about it. I think there is probably an art to it though. Any attempt on my part has not been a success. Angry

I would like to repeat one of my threads here. Earlier i mentioned about gaining clients before you start the business. This condition exactly matches here in networking business. Gain your clients in networking business before you join. So that the problem of over saturation will not affect you.
