Millions of website owners across the globe have toiled for hours upon hours submitting their websites to free directories in the hope that by building a large number of backlinks in this way will lead to their websites being ranked higher and being given a higher page rank by google.

We think its total waste of time, and that google factors in all these mountains of low grade reciprocal links and largely ignores them.

Has anyone on the Forum tried this method of gatting backlinks, and do you think it was worthwhile?
